Matcha Mango Energizing Smoothie

I can’t say enough about how much I love this smoothie and the energy it gives me after a midday slump.

It contains so many disease-fighting properties, it’s like a miracle smoothie, that also happens to taste amazing.

When I stopped drinking coffee, I didn’t think I was going to love matcha as much as I do. And it’s not because it tastes spectacular because to be honest, nothing can replace that delicious roasted bean taste but it was the lasting energy it gave me.

It made me feel like how I felt sophomore year in college on Adderall late night in the library studying for exams. It’s like energizer bunny that keeps you going and going.

I feel a HUGE difference with matcha compared to coffee. I would instantly crash two hours after consuming coffee, but matcha, gives me lasting energy with no crash which feels so good.

Make sure you are purchasing ceremonial grade matcha, so many companies are making matcha that may contain trace amounts of metals so you really want to invest in a good, clean matcha.

I use Jojo, its Japanese ceremonial, certified organic, and has that perfect bright green color which lets you know its good.

Did I mention the health benefits?

Matcha is loaded with antioxidants. It’s like green tea, but grown differently so has a different nutrient profile. Matcha contains the nutrients from the entire tea leaf, which results in a greater amount of caffeine and antioxidants than typically found in green tea. But still far les caffeine than coffee.

Studies have shown it can help protect the liver, promote heart health, and even aid in weight loss. One study gave diabetic rats matcha for 16 weeks and found that it helped prevent damage to both the kidneys and liver.

After 12 weeks, green tea extract significantly reduced liver enzyme levels. Elevated levels of these enzymes are a marker of liver damage.

Another superfood found in this smoothie is Amla powder.

This Indian gooseberry contains the most antioxidants out of all fruits and vegetables.

It promotes immune function with its boasts of Vitamin C, enhances liver health, supports healthy digestion, improves heart health, improves kidney health, and may increase hair growth. It is my personal, ultimate beauty tool.
